The homeowners wanted to update their dark and dated kitchen. They always loved the modern farmhouse look and envisioned a bright kitchen incorporating farmhouse details. To showcase the shiplap hood, we moved it to the corner of the kitchen. They wanted a larger island to gather around so we changed its position by running it perpendicular to the sink for family and guests to gather. We selected glass and iron pendant lighting above the island and peninsula. We contrasted the crisp white cabinets by using dark gray stained white oak finish for the island and butler's pantry. The ebony stained floors offset the white kitchen cabinetry. The rustic white brick backsplash adds charm to the design. The mudroom cabinetry is made of gorgeous light gray knotty alder to complete the rustic modern farmhouse look.
